ISO 9001:2015 is the world's most-recognized standard for quality management systems — and the baseline quality clause on almost every Indian PSU, government, and enterprise tender. We deliver ISO 9001 consultancy end to end, with a senior IRCA-trained lead auditor accountable on every call, fixed-price scoping, and direct coordination with accredited certification bodies (TUV, BSI, BVQI, DNV, Intertek, SGS, IRQS).

Engagements run on a typical 6–12 week timeline for an SME at a single site, longer for multi-site or PSU contractor scopes. The engagement covers gap analysis, documentation, internal audit, Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit support — and if you've never been through certification before, we walk you through every line of the auditor's report so you understand exactly what was inspected and why.

We're CB-neutral. We work with whichever IAF / NABCB-accredited body fits your customer base, export markets, and procurement requirements — not whichever one pays referral.

What's in scope

What this engagement covers

Six explicit scope areas — what you can expect, end to end, on a typical engagement.

Gap analysis against clauses 4–10

Walk-through of your current state against every ISO 9001:2015 clause. Output is a colour-coded register with what's already in place, what needs creating, and effort estimates per item.

Quality manual & process documentation

Quality manual aligned to Annex SL, process maps, work instructions, document control register, and the records list. Authored to your operations — not boilerplate.

Risk-based thinking & opportunity register

Risk register, opportunity log, and risk treatment plan integrated into the QMS — not bolted on the side. Sized to scope: a 30-person services firm is not a 500-person factory.

Awareness & internal auditor training

ISO 9001 awareness training for all staff; internal auditor training (IRCA-aligned, 2-day) for the people running internal audits going forward.

Internal audit + management review

First-cycle internal audit conducted as an external assessor would. Management review minutes drafted with leadership; this is the document Stage 2 auditors check first.

Stage 1 + Stage 2 CB audit support

We attend the CB audit on-site, support evidence retrieval, manage scope, and close any minor non-conformance inside the visit where possible. Goal: clean Stage 2 report on day one.

How we deliver

The 4-stage delivery process

From kickoff to handover. Senior lead auditor accountable end to end.

  1. 01

Kickoff + gap analysis (week 1–2)

Scope workshop with leadership. On-site walk-through (or remote for services firms). Gap report delivered within 7 working days with detailed remediation plan.

  2. 02

    Documentation + implementation (week 3–7)

Quality manual + procedures authored. Process owners trained. Risk register seeded. Records system stood up. This is the longest phase and where most engagements stall — we don't.

  3. 03

Internal audit + management review (week 8)

Independent internal audit run by us. Findings logged, root cause analyzed, corrective actions tracked to closure. Management review meeting with documented minutes.

  4. 04

    Stage 1 + Stage 2 CB audit (week 9–12)

CB Stage 1 (documentation review) — we close any readiness gaps. Stage 2 (on-site verification) — we attend. Certificate issued within 4–6 weeks of clean Stage 2.

Sector use cases

Where this engagement most often fits

Same service. Different control emphasis, different audit scrutiny.

Manufacturing & MSME

Process documentation, NCR/CAPA system, supplier quality, in-process inspection records, calibration management. The clauses Stage 2 auditors inspect most.

PSU vendors & contractors

Contract-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) layered on top of ISO 9001 for NTPC, IOCL, ONGC, Indian Railways, NHPC, HAL supply contracts. We author the QAP, get customer approval, align SOPs.

Healthcare & diagnostics

ISO 9001 as the baseline before NABH or NABL — patient process flows, document control, complaint handling, equipment management. We sequence the rollout.

Services & BPO

ISO 9001 for IT services, BPO, KPO, consulting firms — adapted to where 'product' is a deliverable, 'process' is a workflow, and 'customer satisfaction' is measurable through survey + retention.

Frequently asked

FAQs

01 Do we need ISO 9001 if we already have a quality system in place?

If your customers don't ask for the certificate, you don't strictly need it. If you're targeting PSU tenders, government supply, large enterprise procurement, or export — ISO 9001 from an accredited CB is almost always required in pre-qualification. Without the accredited certificate, your bid is filtered out before technical evaluation.

02 How long does the entire process take?

Typical timeline is 6–12 weeks for a single-site SME from kickoff to certificate. Multi-site or PSU contractor engagements run 12–16 weeks. The longest phase is documentation + implementation (weeks 3–7); we keep that on track with weekly check-ins and clear ownership.

03 What's the total cost — consultancy + CB audit?

For a single-site SME (30–250 employees): consultancy ₹1.0L–₹1.8L + CB Stage 1+2 audit fees ₹70K–₹1.2L. Total typically ₹1.7L–₹3.0L. Multi-site or large enterprise scopes run ₹2.5L–₹6L. We give you a fixed-price proposal after the scoping call — no surprises.

04 Which certification bodies do you work with?

All major IAF / NABCB-accredited CBs — TUV Nord, TUV SUD, BSI, BVQI (Bureau Veritas), DNV, Intertek, SGS, IRQS, RINA, URS, ICL. We recommend a CB based on your customer base, export markets, and procurement reality — not on referral commissions.

05 Will you do the internal audit, or do we have to?

We run the first internal audit as an independent assessor. We also train 2–4 of your team as internal auditors (IRCA-aligned 2-day) so subsequent cycles can be run in-house. ISO 9001 requires internal audit independence — we ensure the structure is right from year one.

06 What happens after the certificate is issued?

ISO 9001 certificates are valid for 3 years with surveillance audits at year 1 and year 2 (lighter scope, ~50% of original audit days) and full re-certification at year 3. We can stay on retainer or hand over cleanly to your internal team.

07 What is the difference between consultancy and certification?

Consultancy is the implementation work — we help you build the QMS. Certification is the third-party audit — done by an accredited CB. By law (and by ISO's accreditation rules), the same body cannot do both. We are CB-neutral consultants; the CB issues the certificate after their independent audit.

08 Can ISO 9001 be combined with ISO 14001 / 45001 / 27001?

Yes — and it's usually cheaper. Annex SL aligns the structure of 9001 / 14001 / 45001 / 27001, so an integrated management system shares clauses 4–10 and only diverges on Annex A controls. We typically save 25–40% versus running them sequentially.
